Fellow Pojoba and patrons of Pojobauk.com I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. The year 2009, you will agree with me, was very challenging. The recession was in full swing and the global economic turmoil that came with it is an experience some of us will never wish to go through again in our life time.
Jobs were lost, labour hours were cut, recruitment became standstill, those who were lucky to be working had to work even harder for the same amount of money. Properties were repossessed and the rents remained outstanding. The gloom showed on everyone’s face (at least the unfortunate ones). We were beside ourselves with caution and care. We watched the pennies and mind what we eat. We bought only what was necessary and saved as much as we can.
The winter blues and chill did little to help. The snow fell into the records as the heaviest in over three decades. The icy roads, over bearing energy bills and protection meant some of us could not buy as many presents as we wanted for friends and family during the festive season. Conservatism sprawled on our faces as we looked forward to the dawn of the new day, new month and New Year.
The year 2010 brings a ray of hope and fulfilment. We look forward to a resurrected economy which will provide us with jobs and better career prospects. I am sure many of us have already made our resolutions to wither out some bad habits. No matter what challenge you have given yourself this year, we hope you remain absolute in your resolve to achieve them. With the lessons learnt in the previous year, we can only be better at the way we handle difficult situations.
Pojoba (UK) has also vowed to run its website properly. It has been very challenging for us to secure a content manager to manage publications on this site. We are grateful to the web developer who has accepted the offer
to play this role, free of charge, while we find a suitable candidate. As a result we hope to bring to you all the news and information we think will be of concern to every Pojoba. Please do also visit the blog to contribute to the debatable topics which will soon be hitting the page. Do you have a news or story to share? Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us through the contact page.
Pojoba(UK) is very much grateful to you for your patronage and we hope you will find this medium a reliable source for all the news and information which affects you and every Pojoba.
Happy New Year!
